Ingredients

  • 2 cup(s) dried date pieces
  • 1/2 cup(s) butter
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 egg yolk save white in freezer
  • 2 tsp caramel flavoring sold at Walmart
  • 1 cup(s) oats
  • 1 cup(s) shredded coconut
  • 1/3 cup(s) coconut sugar
  • 1/2 salt
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder dark is best!
  • 1 cup(s) sunflower seeds raw is best
  • 1/2 cup(s) pumpkin seeds raw is best
  • 1/2 cup(s) almonds roughly chopped (half )

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roughly chop dried dates if they are whole. Place in bowl along with butter and beat on medium to high for approx. a minute.
  2. Add all other ingredients and combine well. Drop in rounded balls of desired size on baking sheet and flatten slightly with palm.
  3. Bake 12-14 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan with spatula. They will harden quite a bit more after they are completely cool, which makes them great for travel. OTL 2017
